In my game Ms Villareal died in a fire contained to the basement of their house. No one but Max knows the truth surrounding her death. The truth that Jacques started the fire while she was down there leaving her to burn up. Witnessing that event contributed to Max becoming an evil little child and it drove Jacques truly insane.
