I am going to be completly honest here. The 'dramas' are some of the most exciting parts of The Sims and have been for years. I don't always have Sims who cheat but when I do, the effects last a long time in TS3. I have had Sims get a negative moodlet for just 'witnessing betrayal' let alone being a victim.
I have had a Sim at a party who had a boyfriend or girlfriend cheating upstairs. A Woohoo maybe or even some casual flirting. My Sim goes up and investigates and catches them. To cheat anonymously I will have to send the two cheaters to a completely different lot so they hope they don't get caught.
I mean if you where a cheater wouldn't you do the same? Sims shouldn't be so foolish. If I was at a party and my girlfriend 'disappeared' then I would want to find out where she was and if I caught her in bed with another guy then we'll, my Facebook would be exploding with vents! :open_mouth:
The way I see it is this, if a Sim cheats then I expect dramas. To have one Sim to flirt with another and then have the victim just shrug it off like it is no big deal anyway is not really The Sims to me.
Why are players still having issues with this some two and a half years later? :no_mouth:
:disappointed:
When it works, it works fine and is quite entertaining, especially when the angry or sad emotions pop up. What needs to be improved is a balance of consistency and spontaneity to keep things interesting. The emotional buffs do the spontaneity with all the resulting interactions from them, but are not consistent as they can be repressed by happy buffs. Lingering feelings, like "fury" from TS2, would improve this too.
Oh yes I remember the fury. That would make a good emotion actually as it is a real emotion anyway and who wouldn't be furious about being cheated on?
Sims could be furious by a few things actually. How about being furious about coming home and finding out that your wife spent all the household's funds on new shoes or if there is a Pets EP why not be furious when the dog chews up the sofa?
