No, I mean when I click on the sports arena and choose "join a sports team", it opens the career menu, with all available careers with their hours, salary and everything. It just doesn't make any sense.- logionX6 years agoLegendThat's the amount of effort they put into the User Interface. They made sports an unpaid job, and when you click on the sports arena it opens the job menu so you can select sports in the career menu.
Both e-sports gamer and sports are unpaid rabbit-hole careers. "logion;c-17340597" wrote:

Huh. This makes no sense to me whatsoever. Oh well, not gonna waste my time any further on that one, then. :)- Simmerville6 years agoLegend

I agree it seems confusing more than practical - because there are only two options, they could have been in the pie menu from clicking the sports arena directly. If there were numerous options, I'd accept more that they use the career system, but still they could easily have filtered out all other career options while the active sim is a Student. Perhaps they plan to add more options? - EgonVM6 years agoSeasoned AceThis is an after-school activity (and these are usually shown when a teen finds a job). You can filter them by clicking the briefcase with a heart icon on the top.
One main benefit of this activity comes when you want your sim to become a professional athlete. Joining a football team and getting on a high level will give your sim a head start, increased pay, and more vacation days on professional athlete branch (like degrees do). You may even get offers to drop out of university and become a professional athlete while your sim is in college.
Same with e-sports team and tech guru's e-sports branch.
