July 21 Base Game Update (Digital Signature Fix Released)

The new sims are the ones you get when you click create a new household in the neighbourhood screen.

I too think it's a huge improvement..

After installing patch and figuring out which of my mods work and not, I notice a definitive improvement in the look of my game. Don't know if it is the lighting or if it is some other graphic change. Anyway, my game looks fantastic on this old laptop.

Autosave and save reminders are the best update ever that I have been longing for! Thanks Maxis!!!

Could someone please post a screen of the new sims in the gallery? I do not have them nor do I have those new icons for upcoming kit etc. This is my latest Maxis gallery screen.

As a PlayStation 4 player I'm curious to see how the memory boost works on my old console, sims on console is a completely different beast when it comes to what causes lag and I've come to learn how to manage my save files to keep the lag issues low and have no problems with it occurring in my legacy save anymore so a part of me is worried that it'll somehow it'll do the opposite of what it's intended to do and make my game run worse. I probably won't be doing the update straight away, the heatwave here has forced me to take a summer break from the sims as the heat makes my ps4 fan sound like a jet engine. I'm happy that the autosave is optional, I'm not a fan of other games that force autosaves upon most actions (travel, sleep, menu etc) on console we only have a certain amount of gb set aside for save files on the hard drive and I'm worried it constantly auto saving will just bloat that and cause saving space issues (like fallout 4 does) and like others have mentioned I don't want a glitch unintentionally saved that borks my game, I have three save files for my legacy that I save my game to rotationally as I'm playing so I've got backups if anything goes wrong so I'm not someone who needs a reminder to save frequently. I wonder how they'll implement it on console as we already have an autosave feature as such, it sits above the list of saves when you choose load game, I guess it how the game loads if you choose resume game instead of loading an individual save, I never use the resume feature so don't know for sure if that's the case or if its just an automatic exit save. Gonna keep my ear to the ground on this one to see how it goes 😀
