I'm playing TS4 for just few hours. There is lot of flaws but one thing is just *(*^$#*&%%#.... annoys me completly. How I suposse to make friends to my kid sim? Socialize at school does nothing and there is no simple interaction like "play with". My adult sims can make good friends over a few hours but my kiddo can't make a friend during two days. Kids/teens should have plenty of friends from school for god sake! Any ideas? Mods? Because this is killing my desire to play this game.

Your kids can bring anyone they know to the house to hang out (start at the relationship panel) , and if they socialize at school they will meet other kids.

My child sim makes friends at school now. They have even brought a random friend home. I have no problems anymore with that tone working. They even make friends with teens. Check your mods for sure.

They recently patched in the ability for sims to meet other sims at work and school through the socialize/make friends interactions. Hovering over the option still does not tell you that your sim will actually meet people, but they will. If it's not working for you it must be a bug. It does work in my game. My kids sometimes even bring the kids they met from school home with them after school.

My Sims meet other Sims at work/school; the relationship grows pretty slowly if all you do is interact at school so you have to interact in other ways -- I have a mod from MTS (which seems to be down right now) that enables Sims to build relationships by talking on the phone, and phone conversations last longer as well so more relationship can be built.

Your kids can bring anyone they know to the house to hang out (start at the relationship panel) , and if they socialize at school they will meet other kids.

No there is actually a bug (was never fixed) where if you choose the "meet new friends" tone while your child sim is at school they never meet anyone new. MY sim children make friends at school and so do my teens. I've haven't found building relationships difficult at all :o

I use a story progression mod so there's a lot of teens and kids for my kids to meet at the park and at school.

I created a little confusion. I know that sims can MEET new people in schools but for me they don't make friends there. I mean in TS3 (and Ts2 I think) all you need to do was set the options right and relationship panel grows rather fast, here it doesn't move. Idk, i just feel that making friends as kid should be easier. Or maybe I'm too impatient :P Anyway, thanks for responses.

For me in ts3 I found that the talk to friends/coworkers option when sims were away at school and work really did not raise the relationships very quickly. If I wanted my sims to actually befriend the people they met in a reasonable amount of time... like before they aged up or died, I had to invite them over to talk. It seems to be about the same for me in ts4.
