Kind of annoyed at the scared emotion

I have had two haunted houses so far and no one had issues going to work or school - I play vanilla so maybe it is a mod causing that. Yes, sims get interrupted when they are scared - that only makes sense - if you heard a creepy noise in your house - wouldn't you stop paying attention to what you are doing and be scared? Regardless of that though - I can still always get my sims to go back to what they were doing if I want to, even if they are scared, or calm their fears first before going back to what they were doing. Being scared is the point of living in a haunted house. I really like the scared emotion - it is one of the rare funny things we actually have gotten in this game.
