Kind of annoyed at the scared emotion

I don't find the new scared emotion too bad, but I find that most of the time when my sim ages into a child, the first night they'll wake up every hour or so because of a nightmare and it's quite annoying because they're all back to back. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm not too crazy about it with my Sim that lives in a haunted house. She's too scared to do anything.

She won't sleep because she has a nightmare.
She'll only shower for a couple seconds then get out because she was too scared.
She won't go to the washroom because she's too scared.
Then when the emotion goes away, she sees a spooky puddle then gets scared.
Then she won't remove the puddle because she's too scared
Then she get's terrified and won't eat because she has to stand up to scream at the doll after every bite.
Etc. etc. etc.

It's not challenging gameplay, it's just obnoxious because I can't even play the game. I try to have her watch the comedy channel or do something else to give another emotional boost but it doesn't work because she won't do the thing I tell her to do.

I'm not sure this is related to being terrified or living in a haunted house. I have had this issue with sims before the new emotion was patched in. For me this bug has seemed more general and not specific to the emotion. Incidentally, none of my sims in a haunted house have had this happen yet.

Yeah I had this issue when Get Famous came out, way before this.

I don't have the paranormal pack. I have only seen one scared sim, and it wasn't the one I was playing.

With no mention of a base game emotion overhaul I wasn't expecting the scared emotion to be subtle or varied depending on the situation/sim. Emotions and traits have not been given an improvement they just gave us a new one.

Something I noticed when I was playing with the Goth family in a haunted residential and doing all the steps required to keep the peace is that the haunting would still ramp up every so often to the point that Temperance would eventually appear and then suddenly it would all calm down again after her appearance for a period of time. It's possible I was missing something but I felt like I was being quite thorough.

The Sims not going to work and school issue would of been okay if it was just a random day here and there but my sims were missing days at a time and were getting to the point of not affording their bills. I was wanting things to get super crazy in their haunting but sadly this mechanic or bug I'm not sure which said no to that.

I don't mind it but get scared of thunderstorms But runny out of the darn gym where she is completely safe "hey get back here!" seriously sheesh ill understand if were outside but she was indoors and using the shower. I have UI cheat mod get rid of it otherwise she be out the door being butt naked is all I need to get embarrassed. But I don't mind it but get annoying very fast and don't have a paranormal pack yet.

I think they patched the scared emotion in the latest update. So it’s there whether you have Paranormal or not.
