Should they just add everything to the game for free? Because I don’t see how you add anything to the game without “commodifying culture” since the game itself is based on Western European/North American culture and everyone paid for that, and it’s not like they haven’t added and aren’t continuing to add different cultural representations in free updates pretty frequently. We just got those gorgeous Korean wedding ensembles for free, we got an entire collection of Chinese New Year items for free, there were some traditional Indian clothing items we got for free, they’ve added multiple recipes from different cultures for free, Afro textured hairs have been added for free, it would be nice to see some items and clothing from different countries across the African continent too. We had a free update of Latin inspired items like that cool grill, and recipes and the pergola and more. We got some Middle Eastern inspired items and Islamic attire for free when they updated stairs. But I don’t see the harm in also selling some of those items especially in kits that are fairly affordable giving those who complain about the added diversity to opt out if they want to also. I enjoy the added diversity and I love getting free stuff as much as everyone does but if this game and future iterations are to be supported they have to make money as well, and I don’t mind paying for things I enjoy either.
YES!
I just can’t get my head around the fact that some folks make such a big deal out of paying for culture inspired content. Why is it seen as such an offense, especially since we’ve been getting many culture inspired Base Game updates?!
It’s the freakin’ SIMS! It’s stuffed with cultural and subcultural references because…NEWS FLASH, it’s a life simulator simulating HOOMANS inspired by different cultures created by hoomans.

Well, you know, I should be getting the entire game set for free because it represents humans! Last time I checked I was a human. Sort of. At least I look human. Sometimes.
Sure look, I spent forty quid on Cats and Dogs, but I have yet to hear one cat or dog complain about the pack not being for free. They know better.
What about the vampire folk? Haven’t seen them complain unless we’re talking about nerfing the teeth out of ‘em.
Really Folks…Sheesh… careful not to get yer tails in a twist, don’t wanna see some of you try and run a business. I’d be the first to snatch up all the free goodies before you go bankrupt.
Don’t mind me. Leaving now.
Lovely day, lovely day. ?
