If your active sim is the club leader, you can also set the distractions as forbidden activities. You might have to change it whenever they gather on a different lot though.
I had to do this on a cafe lot where I had a club of hackers and a club of painters gather. Everyone was excessively drawn towards the computers, so using computers was put on the forbidden list for the painting club.
