To all the rest of the community: I'm really glad you all are happy. Lol, I guess I just expect the bar to be a bit higher. In The Sims 2 we had a sewing machine which your sim could make all the clothes in the CAS once they leveled up, that was fantastic. They could fix an old car and drive it, they could do all kinds of things from the hobby pack. That's where my high bar comes from. I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, I just find knitting rather boring, but whatever floats your boat.
I voted for knitting
because it was the closest thing we were likely to get to the Sims 2 sewing machine. I really liked the somewhat customisable outfits you could make at the highest level of sewing and I thought that an upgraded version of that, albeit with knitting instead of sewing, would be perfect for the game. Unfortunately, everything we've seen so far suggests that we aren't going to get that level of customisation.
I was so disappointed in the result of the CAS vote, when there were so many items picked that you can't knit. I really wanted
every CAS item from the pack to be unlocked via knitting in the game, and a lot of the items chosen aren't even made of wool, at the exclusion of most of my favourite items that actually were made of wool! I'm still gutted about the hat situation and the fact that more child and toddler items were not picked. So yeah, I was not a happy camper after that reveal.
I am slightly more hopeful at this point regarding the Build/Buy mode items. Initially I was only going to vote for things you can knit but then I would have picked little more than clutter type items so I did end up picking a few other things as well for variety. Kinda regret picking one of the sofa sets but to be honest, I wanted more pouffes so then I had to pick the sofa and armchair that matched. I am trying to prepare myself to be disappointed again, I just hope we get the grim reaper cuddly toy and the cat cuddly toy.
As far as the stuff pack concepts we were offered are concerned, I personally didn't rate the healthy living or tech ones. The science one offered the possibility of a couple of items I've wanted for a while - household sized microscopes and telescopes - but I wasn't into the theme enough to rate it higher than 3rd place.
And now to happy haunts. This theme has a
lot of potential and was my 2nd choice because I liked the career options that were suggested and I think we could get some great CAS and build/buy items out of it. I can't remember what else was said about the pack though, it's been a while! I know there are people who are still gutted we didn't get this one but I absolutely believe that it would have been a big disappointment as a stuff pack because there is just no way we would have got all 3 of the careers and chances are the CAS picks would still have been skewed in favour of adult females because it
always is. I think a game pack is the way to go with this one, to make sure we can include all the careers on offer, and if so, I think it will be very popular.
