Knock knock!vampires infront if the door.

Is it on purpose that caleb, lilith , vlad or ugly generated townies knock on the house door at knight or is it just me.
I thought they would break in and drink blood from my sim but they just stand there like
"Oh hello dear sim, may I ask you if Iam allowed to drink your blood" and after some time they go away.

  • So it would seem. But there's still that issue where they automatically breaking into residential lots as well to deal with. So this issue is only partially fixed.
  • From what I've read in other topics, and tested, if you have absolutely zero vampire interactions of any kind - this includes conversation options as well as the usual suspects of studying vampire lore or personal interaction, you will be safe from break-ins. As soon as the line is crossed one is vulnerable to attacks and neighborhoods overrun with vampire vermin (vamp townies - major source of break-ins). Been there, done that, have abandoned at least two game saves because of it.

That's kind of hard to do in my game since I'm generally playing my families now with vampire in them. So I don't have that luxury of avoiding anything to do with vampires at all.
  • I just had Vlad break in and suck my sims’ blood a couple of days ago. However, I just locked the door for everyone except my household members and grew a garlic plant at the entrance (and other places such as my sims bedroom). That really seemed to do the trick, as now although vampires keep coming to my door, even when my sim is asleep they won’t come in at all, even Vlad. Also, the garlic plant makes them very uncomfortable so they don’t generally stay that long.
Also, I think there are some higher Vampires that have the power to enter places uninvited? I can’t remember it off by heart though. Which would explain why some Vampires would enter inside without being invited.
Locking the door has proved to be successful until now though.
  • Locking the door didn't work for me in one of my saves but, I don't know maybe it's just my game or fixed.
  • Probably depends on whether a given vampire has the ability to enter regardless of locking state.
  • Eh, I just use Sacrificial's Extreme Violence mod to Stake the ugly random generated Vampires (though I think a new one spawns).

I only keep Lilith, Caleb, and Vlad. If you kill off Vlad, the game generates a new Grand Master (no promotion for Lilith or Caleb)! If I decide to turn into a Vampire, I have them to help me.
