- I haven't seen any difference concerning lagging in houses with or without basements.
- I haven't noticed a difference either way.
From a technical standpoint, if your PC is borderline struggling with the game in the first place, basements would be less lag-inducing because they require less drawing of lighting and shadows, both of which are performance heavy tasks for the GPU. Personally I'd lower lighting and shadow in graphics options if that was an issue for me before I'd let it dictate how I build my houses.
Two things cause noticeable lagging for me. One is the aurora lighting effect that can appear over Green Eco lots (from EL pack). That is beyond extreme lag for me. I use a mod to disable the effect.
The other is a mod that I'd love to use, but using it causes the movement of the camera in my game to become slightly sluggish (i.e. minor lag). So I don't use that mod (Meaningful Stories) "GalacticGal;c-18038331" wrote:

You are very kind! Thank you so much. It really means a lot."GalacticGal;c-18038331" wrote:

I'm glad we have you for that. It would get pretty redundant if everyone who viewed the thread but had no answer was to post that. :)
