@MsPhy I am SO trying this when I get home!! Thank you!
It does work, did that when I got my Sim married back when I first got the game.- My sims couple got married yesterday and I was surprised that the name didn't change. For me this is essential. A common name to me means family. If it is a feminist thing (what I don't think), they should at least have given us the option too choose, which partner wants to take over the name or maybe have a combined name. But in my opinion they just FORGOT to implement this. Really disappointing. This needs to be added. ASAP!
- Any news on if this is going to be fixed or if it's a known bug and it's being worked on?
I really don;t want to get my sims married till it's fixed, which means no kids for me till it gets fixed either, I don't want children out of wedlock! lol "MsHoneyluv21;12557828" wrote:

Here's how you do it:
1. Ctrl+Shift+C to bring up the cheat menu.
2. Type "testingcheats true" and hit enter.
3. Type "cas.fulleditmode" and hit enter.
4. Shift+Click your Sim and choose edit in CAS.
These steps worked for me. Thank you!"Koach137;12557855" wrote:
Ah, crud. This is not good at all. :( I sure as hell hope they can fix it.
It'll come in an EP dubbed as a "feature ""BWpunisher;12558726" wrote:
You cannot change the last name in CAS via testing cheats. It tells you that you cannot modify pre-created sims or something along those lines. You can only edit their appearance through that.
False.
You can change the names when you use testing cheats plus the full edit cheat. ;)"MsPhy;12567176" wrote:
Hmm. I didn't do the #3 one, but maybe this is the sorcery that's needed?
You had to have. Editing Sims' names is impossible without the 'cas.fulleditmode' cheat.- halouja11 years agoNew Spectator

I absolutely agree with you - we should have the option so we can choose. My newly married female sim and her new husband now live in her house but he still has his original surname instead of taking hers, as I wanted, to continue the family line; I am not a happy bunny! :(
