Laundry Machine Fires.....

Question

Is there a way to stop the laundry machines catching on fire so often? This is why I tend to not get laundry machines now cause I feel like it happens way too often. And why does it even happen in the first place? Today I was playing and it caught fire when my poor maid was over. I thought I got him out of the house in time but he ended up still being on fire and died! My Sims were at work so they couldn't call the fire department so I thought the whole place was going to burn down. It was just so annoying. Like why is this even a thing? Can I stop it?

I'm surprised one of the upgrades don't include "make unbreakable" mine seem to break down every other wash and dry.

Are you making sure to Clean the Lint Tray between each load?I figure if you have hired help that becomes problematic.

Yes I have. And I think he might have been putting it into the washer. But either way it just seems to happen in my game and I don't know is there a way to prevent them?

If your handiness skill is high enough, you can upgrade the dryer to prevent fires.
