How do you use washtub in the new stuff pack keeps telling me to add additives

Oh dear. Now my poor butler is going to have to water some flowers as well as all the food my sims grow. My poor butler rarely has time to clean the house due to all the plants and looking after the child as it is! I just added a pomegranate to my wash, so I guess that was a bad guess.
