- Tbh the only reason I get excited about the packs is that I'm waiting on LGR's reviews for them.
- just what i thought. this EP can be fun for several hours and then the charm is gone. i was excited at first but now i'm sceptical.
- icemanfresh7 years agoSeasoned NewcomerWell, that was definitely hilarious, and he did go into the major aspects of the pack.
I also agree that it's not really a must-have, and its appeal is for certain players who do like this sort of thing. Personally, I like it well enough. It gives my sims a new destination and new things to do, and I can finally make my sim with an archaeology backstory legit. :D - I'm still just waiting for more info. To me the two things that pop out from watching vids:
1) 90% of the gameplay looks like waiting for your sim to do a thing. Sim digging a hole? Wait an hour. Sim examining a puzzle? Wait an hour. Seems like it could get old real fast. This is probably where the traps and sliding puzzles of World Adventures come into play because they made you think. Even if they weren't hard, they kept your attention and distracted you from your boredom by forcing you to think. This one doesn't do that and it shows.
2) Given that the gameplay itself seems disappointing, I remain interested in what the rewards can do. The obscene amounts of money those relics are worth is very off-putting to me because I consider money the most lazy, uncreative reward ever, but if the artifacts have good powers, it could be worth it. Sadly no one has catalogued them yet, but until I hear about one that sounds interesting, I think I'll be holding onto my money. - Watched the video and it seems like he had fun with the pack but hates to admit it, lol. It was a weird, almost positive vibe.
- AineOfMay7 years agoSeasoned SpectatorGreat review as always, I agree with him, it's a fun pack, but it doesn't change anything for the game as a whole, and it's not meant to. It just is what it is.
- I saw it on you tube when it came out. It was good and worth the wait. He treated the GP fairly, as always.

I think this is true for all expansion/game/stuff packs. Some excitement lasts longer than others but for the most part, you are just adding to your library of Buy/Build and CAS items but gameplay starts to lack and you just sit and wait for the next pack. "buzz_infamous;c-16355382" wrote:

Pretty much this.
At least it's leagues better than Outdoor Retreat, and the relics do provide some gameplay even after you tire out of Selvadorada.- MidnightAura867 years agoNew SpectatorThe first balanced review I have watched.
I agree with him and I think he was very easy on this pack."DeservedCriticism;c-16355490" wrote:

Digging artifacts takes several game hours. Literally sitting watching the clock go by. And I realise this would take some time in real life but it’s like watching paint dry. I think the reason it takes so long is to waste time to force your sim to turn back or lengthen their adventure. It’s also incredibly easy to max. My sim maxed it on two trips. One was 5 days, the other 3 days.
Sims examining the puzzles is the game giving you answers. It’s the game equivilant of “ask the audience” as it will eliminate one or more answers depending on skills. Even if you take a risk your sim gets a buff but if your sim has been digging they will be too focused, confident or inspired to care. Laundry is officially more dangerous than the temples. There is no atmosphere, no challenge, it’s literally click examine and pick an answer, any answer. I hate to say it but the tombs in WA wipe the floor with this.
The rewards are lots of money! Lots and lots and lots of money. Even fake artifacts can sell for over 350 simoleans.
Or you can assemble artifacts together and cause death to sims or be turned into a skeleton for a few days or have a skeleton maid. I’ve not had the last one happen.
Lgr is bang on as usual. The world may be pretty but beauty only goes so far.
