The funny thing is that both the minimum and recommended specs of Island Living already state 64 bit (which they've basically been recommending since Cats & Dogs as others have pointed out):

I think in the end playing on a 32bit system is playing and, especially, buying at your own risk. I'm glad they're designing games for modern hardware, because I wouldn't be all that happy playing things that are still designed and optimized to work on 32bit systems (which you probably won't be having anyway if you've bought a PC / laptop in the last few years).

I'm personally looking forward to the Legacy update, which I think won't be bringing anything mind-blowing right away, but will mostly lead to a smoother game as updates will be able to fully exploit the new RAM capabilities and they won't have to worry about breaking the games of people playing on older systems. Since they can of course recommend not buying the pack under certain requirements, but at least for now, they must update thinking of everyone. That will change once the Legacy version exists.
  • What does it even mean for the game, when the 32bit Version is not supported anymore. Will there be more Features and less limitation or even bigger Worlds? I dont really get it.
Maybe thats why the Island Living EP has a small world and diving spots as rabbitholes, because of 32bit Version, but who knows?
