Thanks for the info about the coffee bar; I wondered why it wasn't being manned at my cinema. I set up an NPC purchased cinema in Windenburg and set the owner to tend the coffee bar and his staff to clean. The activities were drink coffee, eat popcorn and watch movies. Nothing difficult there, I thought... but the coffee bar didn't get tended, nothing got cleaned, the owner was nowhere in sight, his employee was the only one (except my own sims) watching movies and the remaining hoards of visitors were making and eating popcorn... sigh.
I originally had watch movies in my Convention Hall, but Sims don't "persist" at watching them. They will watch, but only for a few minutes at a time before doing something else :/
