I see that I am not alone in my disappointment. But you also give me a few ideas.
Ziafar, how have you priced your items for sale at your shop? When my sim first opened her Cafe, Pottery & Gym shop, I had set it so people paid to enter, but had set the price for the pottery at a 50% markup. While she was getting customers through the door, that majority of them only wanted to use the gym equipment, so actual pottery sales was really low. Once I set the markup to the lowest point, then I started actually selling lots of pottery, along with having many repeat customers for the gym.
My only issue with B&H is that you can't stock the shelves with a 'master object', so that once an item sells, it is automatically replaced. (Yeah, I would much rather my sim could be lazy that way.) 🙃

As for the stocking of the shelves I agree with you. It sucks. Maybe a modder will do something about it someday.
I think GameGirl2168a ’s experience sounds like mine. I started selling all stock easily when I set prices to -50% discount, then when my reputation improved I could gradually increase to -25%, then up to base price. That’s as far as I’ve got so far.
GameGirl2168a I have Get To Work - not B&H. I am able to restock with a "master object" including food items!! I like this pack a lot it keeps me so very busy! If I get B&H will I lose the ability to "restock" master objects???
And simsplayer818 , FreddyFox1234 I discovered yesterday in fact, the FreshChef trait from the Masterchef Aspiration the food doesn't spoil does not work with the --- rice cooker? Every dish made from it has day/hr timers attached, tho both my sims have FreshChef trait. Could just be my game too as it would appear that the "glitches" are not the same across the board with those who do not have cc or mod, which suggests interactions between packs are not stable.
If you use the B&H sales shelves and wall (for selling items that hang on walls), yes you will lose the "restock master objects" ability. I was forgetting the GtW retail shelves. I'll have to try them out in my next B&H setting. (Right now my sim has closed her business and moved to Evergreen Harbor [Eco Lifestyle], to be with her fiancee, where she's gardening, writing books, and skilling up for Rock Climbing.)
As for the Rice Cooker, have you already upgraded it all the way? Wondering if that could be why its food still has a timer on it for freshness. My sim doesn't currently use a rice cooker, as her kitchen is too small for it. I'll make some adjustments and give that a try with a rice cooker, to see if that has something to do with it. (I make sure all my Sims have the Master Chef abilities/perks.)
