Little Disappointments (an ignorable wee rant)

-My Sim still gets both “sparkling clean” and “somebody lives here” moodlets from bust the dust

-The floor goes from literally sparkling to visibly filthy in a flash

-Despite the supposed fix the washing machine keeps breaking

-Graduation looked like a COVID social distancing and restricted numbers situation. Dozens of empty chairs, ghost town like…

-None of her friends were selected as the fellow graduates. Caitlyn is best friends with Sidney Price and Molly Prescot plus others and they simply weren’t there. Instead random teenagers she’d never met were valedictorian and fellow graduates.

-Skill gain rates seem to be a bit ‘wonky’. Some are super fast. Cooking and handiness in particular despite no homey lot trait…

-My city gets left with floating canvases and plants after a festival. Collectable items just don’t get cleaned up and get left behind. Unsupported.
  • I had my first sim since HSY released go to high school, and it was painfully boring. That pack had so much potential, yet it didn't live up to the expectations for me.

I feel like graduation has always been buggy, as well as most other HSY events. But again, I've only played it when it first came out, and am just now revisiting it. If I'm not mistaken it does require the other sims to have aged up to young adults before they graduate. So if they're still teens when your sim graduates, they won't be there.

As for skill gain, I mentioned this in another thread, but one of my sims gained parenting skill (level 3 through 9) in a matter of a few real life minutes. I chalked it up to him being an alien or a genius at the time, but after reading the thread, I realized it may be a bug.

And yeah, the rapid skill gain bug definitely seems to be back. -sigh-

That is a thought. Naturally I had a birthday party a few days before graduation. If this is true, one could cheat the age of select friends up or have joint celebration and THEN they would be at graduation?!

I think if you get to the cake before anyone eats it, you can add candles again and age up your sims' friends as well. I did it with my alien legacy twins. I was playing one twin, bought two cakes and aged them up at the same time.

I don't really mind the rapid skill gain bug, it makes things easier on me, a lazy simmer. ?
