Little Things You Miss and Don’t

Things I don't miss:
Sims losing relationship with everyone if you move them to another neighborhood
Sims unable to multitask
Rabbitholes galore in 3
Reputation system (alone with someone at your place and you're flirting it up and somehow EVERYONE knows and heckles you for cheating)
Being kicked out of another sims home by a toddler when behaving inappropriately (Wut?)
Jewelry and accessories not having a category to be separate
Elevators (half the time I couldn't even get on them with multiple sims queuing for it and routing failure)
Sims stealing your newspaper when they hate you
Limited to just awful hairstyles
Lack of makeup
Having to make FRIENDS to advance in a job (I reaaaaaaaaaaaalllly hated this)
Apartments in 3

Things I miss:
Pets getting jobs (It's the silliest thing but I liked it)
Cool down period when a Sim just completely hates you
Building your own apartments
Slow dancing
Buying groceries (Even though I briefly panicked when I played 2 and forgot how to buy groceries pfft)
Teens sneaking out and one even coming to pick you up in a car along with the chance they'll be arrested
NOT showing up for a date or meeting a sim and that sim automatically gets in the red and hates you for awhile
Easy bake oven for kids (I liked that kids could gain a cooking skill from it)
Ghosts from sims 2 (Since they're more of a threat and you and be scared to death or just pee yourself in fright)
Buying certain items off your home lot that is on a community lot (books from a magazine rack, phones, games, etc)
Relaxing on the bed
Risky chance cards where you could lose a skill point, injure yourself, or get fired.
Attraction system for sims having turns ons and turn offs.

I dont miss the newspaper...there I said it....please not in the face!

Another I miss: the little pond with shack where your sims could feed the fish or sail little boats. The shack provided the fish food, boats, and functioning picnic baskets. Each clothing type had its own style of rack - great for making specialty boutiques. The counters/carts that offered: burgers & hotdogs, pastries, ice cream treats. Chemistry set. All of these are from TS1.

There’s a bubble machine in City Living. It sounds like it works about the same, according to the wiki.

Sims 4 bubble machine is kinda lame. The ts2 one looks really fun since it's always swarmed and it makes the sims float! They keep laughing and generally look like they're having a great time.

Sims don't touch the ts4 one and when they do they just cough and get an emotional moodlet -- the same as any other emotional object.

I miss so many features of the Sims 2.

I miss being able to play chess on the computer. Most of my households have chess tables and I acknowledge how unrealistic that is.

TS2 Sims can join and build relationships while using. And yeah, they float high.

Things I miss:

* Witches - Of course, this is top of my list. D: lol. I want them to be so in-depth this time around! Really loved the Game Pack idea to truly focus on them.
* Sims University - being able to be apart of a Sorority/Frat, or Secret Society.
* Consequences - More death types, more challenge. (Burglars, more skills to allow you to start from 0 Simoleans and have to earn a living. Consequences for relationships, relationships being harder to obtain). I want a challenge, not easy mode. :(
* Interactions between children - Dance on mommy and dad's feet, cops and robbers, hopscotch, tag, miss Mary Mack, etc.
* Toddler table - drawing/coloring, blocks, etc.
* Babies - Being able to hold a baby and multitask. Being able to bathe your babies. Changing tables.
* Day Care Career - Would love to see this return in Sims 4. (Active Career).
* Real Festivals - I feel like Sims 3 had so many things for the festivals. I would have loved it if they added "stalls" to Seasons where you could play games, or if they brought back the kissing booth during Spring along with slow dancing... (The haunted house during "Spooky Day"), I feel like these were such a missed opportunity.
* Sleep Overs - I miss pillow fight interaction, being able to have sleep overs, we have Movie Hangout, I felt like this should have been included, along with "story telling", truth or dare, maybe Twister, (remember jumping on the bed, or sofas?)
* Being able to place lot sizes down.
* Different types of stairs. - (Spiral, L-Shape, Curved (Curved and L-Shaped are basically wants, not misses).
* Attraction System - I miss being able to select things that my Sim might be attracted to, or like/dislike. I miss reputation (not fame reputation, relationship reputation).
* Coward Trait + all the traits from Sims 3.
* The different types of deaths from Sims 3.
* Mermaids
* Island Paradise - one of my favorite expansion packs. I loved combing for seashells, scuba diving + skill, being able to collect all kinds of tropical fish, star fish, etc, etc and bringing them home and putting them in the aquariums. I miss the possibility of running into sharks, or dolphins, or gigantic squid monster that could take your boats down! That was so interesting. I also miss being able to run a resort.
* Photo-booth. I miss the pool table.
* Generations expansion pack - (Better weddings, all ages got some love in this pack and I loved it).
* Hobbies - Sims 2 Free Time expansion pack was a favorite.
* In-Game Story Album - Sims 2
* Peek-A-Boo interactions with toddlers. Nursery Rhyme. (Missed opportunity in Toddler Stuff).
* Private School - Headmaster would come by the house and make sure your house was a good layout (If your house was clean and well kept, etc.)
* Meteor Showers
* Fire-Fighters, Police, Burglars,
* Better Ghosts
* Ability to set the rotation of seasons
* The Ability to set the cycle of the moon
* Supernaturals - Sigh. :(
* Better Aliens - I love the disguises, but I feel like Aliens need a revamp.
* Small Pets, being able to go out into the world and collect all kinds of different animals (I miss owls, birds, and other little animals). Except snakes........
* I'll be honest, I do miss the color wheel. I miss CAST because I loved being able to take my favorite custom content, or favorite objects from packs and recolor them to patterns that I downloaded, or colors. I also miss being able to have different kinds of hair-colors because of the options we could have. I wish they would add a basic color wheel that Sims Players could configure and some talented Simmers could add onto it and add the options for applying patterns and such.. :( Because I understand that CAST was probably a bit laggy, but I do miss being able to apply patterns and colors to wall paper and floors because oh my goodness were there barely any options without it. Just like now... there's barely any floors and wall papers that I like that are in the game without CC. :(

Things I don't miss:

* CAS Sliders
* Toddlers not being able to walk upstairs, or crawl upstairs
* Not being able to plop houses down in the game through the gallery/ exchange
* Making sure to be out of the game in order to download houses for the game.
* Sims 3 Launcher
* Sims 3 Loading times
* Cost for traveling
* Cost for moving family to a different world
* Losing relationships when moving to a different world
* I am sure there are a lot more things I don't miss, but I'll stop here.

I miss a lot of things. But, right now, I miss being able to customize lighting without having to go into Live mode. I hardly ever use Live mode anymore.

If I build a lot and I want to customize the lighting, why am I forced to bring a Sim to the lot in order to do it? It's silly.

This game definitely wasn't created with builders in mind.

What I don't miss is the clothing from the other games. TS4's CAS items are one of the game's strongest assets. In the previous iterations, the clothing choices were weak.

Also, I play with header effects off, and somehow that disables the light settings window from showing up, which doesn't make sense. We really should be able to edit lights in build mode since the lighting is so integral to the feel of a room.
