Locked Gates in Jungle Adventure

Those gates are purposely sealed off. The pack was designed that way in order to give you a reason to send your Sims back to Selvadorada.

Except that that are blocked off every single time I go into the jungle. No matter how times I visit. I've been at least 15 times now.

Is this always with the same sims or different sims? So far, I've gotten through all the locked doors with sims that have gone back to visit 3 or 4 times each. You could try repairing your game and see if that fixes it. Are you using any mods at all? Sometimes mods will cause problems. I hope you find a fix, I'm sure it's gotten frustrating for you.

Have you been on 15 different vacations or gone to the jungle area 15 times during the same vacation? I always read it as the gates would get unlocked during another vacation and not during another visit to them during the current vacation.

Yes, that is my experience too. If the gates are locked on the first time through per vacation, they will be locked for every time you go out during the same vacation. They only unlock during subsequent vacations.

I do have 2 very basic mods, that, so far haven't caused any problems in my game, but I will for sure look into it. Also, I've been to the jungle 3 times and the gates are still locked. I haven't been able to find anything on the locked gates in the forums. Maybe my search wasn't specific enough. I wasn't aware of the 15 times. But, that's ok, I enjoy playing nonetheless, 15 will come soon enough! Thank you for your help! :)

I was wondering if the sim has to have or do something in particular for them to open like maybe one aspiration over the other to open them the first time like maybe the jungle aspiration is needed to open certain areas or something like that. I completed the temple in one vacation with a sim with maxed out archaeology and culture skills. If nothing's going to open on the second vacation I see no point in having them go a second time. I miss the Prima Games guides. It still helps me so much when I play world adventures in sims 3 and I bet one would help me a lot with this one as well.

So there is no way to get in those locked gates.

I went back a second time last night and the locked gates were open for me. Now I'm in the process of starting my second run at the temple.
My new problem is, I brought their toddler daughter with them and sent her back to the lodge for the night and now her icon says she's at daycare. I really wanted her to come on the adventures with them not stay with a childcare service. :neutral:

It's random. The last time I took my Sim there, all but 2 of the gates were open. Sometimes it's just 1 extra area, sometimes it's 3. But really, it's just an extra small area with a treasure chest, nothing exceptional, and there's no achievement for discovering every area either.
