Loner Trait and Pets

Does anyone know if pets cancel out the mood boost loner sims get from being alone?

  • I'm not sure about regular pets, but I know the cowplant pet doesn't cancel it out.
  • As I was playing my loner sim, it looked like her kitty was cancelling out the happy buff. Wondering if anyone can confirm it.
  • I can confirm it.

A similar problem occurs with paranoid Sims, they are getting tense from two pets interacting with each other nearby the paranoid Sim.

This is funny, lol. Imagine being stressed out by feeling that nearby pets are plotting something evil against you.
  • Would be totally fine for a Sim with the paranoid and insane trait, I suppose.
  • My loner seems to be perfectly happy with her dog.

She also has the dog lover trait though, if I remember rightly. The dog has the intelligent trait, so they do training and have intellectual discussions. :D
  • Talking to pets and plants fills up the social need bar. I am not sure that loner sims just want to be alone or just not socialize/go out that much.
  • As a loner I can confirm that even a spider on the ceiling can cause stress by too much socialisation under the right circumstances (having had too much social interaction right before seeing it). Admittedly that's rare and I laugh about it now, but it did happen. Pets can easily remove a happy to be alone moodlet irl.
  • If I am correct, loners are not stressed by being around pets, but they will not get the happy moodlet from beeing alone when around pets.
