Long Lived Trait

Hey y'all, I was just wondering if anyone happens to know how long the long lived trait extends an elder sims life span? One of my Sims got the notification that he was close dying but it has been about approximately three sims week since I got that notification and his age bar still continues to glow. I'm not in a huge rush for him to die off but I was just curious how long approximately the trait actually extended the lifespan.

  • Yeah. I’ve got an elder with the long-lived trait too in long mode. She’s outlived 1 of her 4 children and she’s got 4 great-grandchildren. Thank goodness she hasn’t got the active trait too.

I mean, I really like this sim, but I feel as if it’s her time to go.

Other sims who were roughly the same age as her but had the active trait have already passed away, so I think her time is coming soon too.

I'm not sure if the mod is updated, but there is a "show sim info" mod that will let you click on any SIM to find out how many days they have left. ;)

It's been a bit since I played, but I believe on normal lifespan, they get around an extra 40 ish days. My sim had long lived, but it's been a minute since she passed. :)

about 300 days on Long, idk about the other ones though.

I am so with you. I've had my Sims get to the top of the fitness track but I never expected that "Long Lived" would practically make them immortal! I'm so ready for her to be gone but unlike TS3, they don't have a way to have them "age up" to death. She's pretty much out of skills to accomplish except for Mischief, which I won't use, just like I won't use any of the "deviant" aspirations. She's also accomplished most of the aspirations too. She's currently trying to do the Actor one, but is stuck because of the bug where some things (like whims) don't complete. Before the September patch she used to get awards but now that she needs one, she's not getting any. (I'm about ready to get the mod that lets you complete aspirations, which I don't want to use!)
  • Well, a flower arrangement scented with deathflower will fix this problem very quickly. Nice animations too :)

This is how I take care of my townies family trees as well.

    Just use aspirations.complete_current_milestone

We shouldn't have to use it, but I have had to with a couple aspirations when something didn't register.
