A lot of new worlds with fewer and fewer lots in them.

I am afraid we will end up getting many Magnolia Promenade like worlds in the future
It's not so much the number of lots but the number of Sims in the world that determines performance. I've played a couple of downloaded game saves (Plumbella and Lilsimsie's) and I've noticed that they do tend to lag more than my own save, which doesn't have quite as many Sims. So if you have fewer houses and more venues, and if you weed out the Not in World population (making sure you still have Sims to fill the NPC roles) that should help improve the performance.- Lizzychicago7 years agoSeasoned Ace

So basically they're implying that the game can't handle any extra worlds of a respectable size any more. Words can't express how much that aggravates me.
I don't thing that's what Kate means at all, I think they're taking into consideration that quite a few Simmers do not have computers that can handle a whole lot more stuff. They're being considerate whilst still giving everyone what they want. So there aren't a lot of lots to build on, it's not the end of the world. "Lizzychicago;c-16794475" wrote:

So are peolpe ready to pay more just to get less so people whit lower end pc can handle all packs too? This game cost like 400-500e at total and at least i expect this game to be full complete game. This going to cost more when more content comes. At least for me its not okay to have to cut different things multiple times just because of that. If they are going to make smaller packs then they at least should cut that price too."Charlotta11;c-16794587" wrote:

But also the world is just a part of an Expansion Pack. There are also other aspects of the pack that takes into the consideration. Seasons didn't come a new world but in no way it is small. We also didn't get Five Festivals but instead a calendar, it might appear smaller yes but it is more depth. I agreee they should cut the price if rhey had less content but if the content they had was ao indepth like Ger Together I think I will stil buy it."Octavie88;c-16794323" wrote:

I don't see it that way. To me she's saying we have many more worlds coming and shouldn't expect every world to be as large as Windenburg or as small as Del Sol Valley."Pegasys;d-949908" wrote:
So I know a lot of people are disappointed with the few buildable/empty lots in the upcoming EP, but this screenshot (from the Sims Community video) seems to indicate that a lot more worlds are planned, with the way they've resized and spaced out the World menu.
Your thoughts?
Agreed and I like the look of it a lot better."Pegasys;d-949908" wrote:

That's one new world, right? The last one? Is there a chance it will release with the terrain tools, or is it a 'Get Famous' thing. Any idea?"SheriGR;c-16795402" wrote:

The terrain tools, customised career, etc are in the next patch. Check out this site @SheriGR and yes for the new world icon.
TS4 self employed, tutorial update, ui changes, & more november gamepatch- Welllll.... On the 'stuff' load concern.... @Lizzychicago @Charlotta11 ... You both make excellent points!
I would love to see many of the features be optional activations so they don't blow up computers that can't handle them. I have a powerful computer currently but in the past played Sims 2 on a computer that was pretty maxed out by the game. I feel their pain, but I wish there were more (and clearer for non-techie users) options to 'enable or disable' in the options area that clearly state whether they will slow the computer.
I'm not referring to 'core-need-to-run settings', but things like tutorials and many other features. For instance, for my gameplay style, though I own Seasons EP and 'Get Together', I generally find the calendar, festivals and clubs annoying to deal with. If I had a maxed out computer, if I could de-activate those features unless I wanted to use them, this would free up run space.
If we had a pretty thorough listing in options of things we could activate and maybe even a notation about the size/speed gained by de-activating, this may be a better option than cutting back on large and more usable lots for building and some other potential features that are tabled for size/speed reasons. Some of these types of features would take less coding space, time, and complexity, I would assume, than some of the 'new features' (like extensive tutorials) make me wince a bit at since I assume they are trade-offs for alternative options or expansions, plus they use more run/memory space on my game. Also, when adding this type of feature, couldn't the default setting be to 'un-tick' (deactivate) the feature so that people consciously choose it with space in mind?
Even though my computer can handle the game and expansions, it still makes some signs of protest and exertion at times that make me wish I could deactivate some things I don't use just for efficiency and to decrease wear on my computer.
I understand that it is not all about me or what is most appealing to others like me, and the 'greater good' is most important, but I was just wondering if something like this option idea would help if used for more features, as it is obviously used for a number of features already. Just a thought. :) - I don't see it. I just see it depends on someone's resolution for the game how those world icons are placed on the screen.
