@elanorbreton, what I use for a simple way to have nice frames on my own photos and paintings is CC that is just a frame that can be placed over the top of the photo or painting.
The CC I use is:
PBJ's functional photo frames
Jools' custom photo frames
Jools' custom painting frames
I do also use S4S to make my own CC pictures for some of my favorites, but the above CC is a real quick and easy way to always be able to put nice frames on any picture or painting without the additional effort.
