Week 2, Part 2
The Envoy was talking to one of the townies, Keira Post, when Kakashi wanted to discuss about romance and music. Once again, the Envoy was in a hurry to leave.
Since there isn't a piano in Laura, Kakashi, and Yusei's home, Laura and Kakashi travels to The Blue Velvet. (I just hope that the Envoy doesn't mind if Laura practices the piano instead of Kakashi. 😁)
While Laura plays the piano for the townies, the fireplace flames dances with the melody.
As for Kakashi.... He overhears the Envoy muttering something about it.
Kakashi waits until the Envoy leaves the nightclub then searches the fireplace.
He finds the Capp family key "tucked behind a loose stone"!
After hiding it in a safe place, Laura and he heads for home.
It's been a long one or two days (in game) for Kakashi, but at least Laura was able to help him complete the piano related tasks. Although, I think the Envoy is starting to get ticked off about Kakashi interfering with her plans. 😁 Sorry, lady, but Kakashi does want to continue with this mystery.
It is a lovely photo of Laura playing the piano at the Blue Velvet nightclub with the townies all around her listening,It looks like they are enjoying listening to her playing the music 🙂It is great that Kakashi has discovered the hidden family key!
Week 2, Part 1 - Lots of secrets all around, but love is in the air
So where did the envoy go after leaving the archive in such a hurry?
Apparently straight to Spice Market! Where she was (according to the popup) surprised to run into Daniel.
"Lady, we LIVE here! You knew that because you came here to hire my boyfriend a couple of days ago...?"
The envoy left a cryptic comment about the Capp family being big on love, too, and stated that she'd look around a little.
"Of course. Spice Markt is always worth a visit even outside festival days. Take your time and see you around later!"
Gavin: "Danny! I'm back! You, too?"
Daniel: "Yes, I'm dusting!"
Gavin: "The kitchen?"
Daniel: "What else? Myself?"
Gavin: "Lol! Haha! I'm done here in a sec."
Daniel: There! All prepared for romance! I'll need to do some additional legwork regarding temporary human romance customs, but, holy wellspring, I'm already much more normal than this strange envoy. Wonder if she's an evil spirit posing as a mortal... She won't know what'll hit her in this case!!!
Daniel: "How's your research concerning the Capp family going?"
Gavin: "Oh... difficult. Immensely difficult!"
Tina's treefish: *He spent the last one and a half hour watching funny videos.*
(To be fair, the video watching was Gavin's career task for that day. He's in Social media as an online journalist.)
Daniel: *Oh, I wanna, too!*
Daniel: "Take a break, love! Know of any good videos?"
Gavin: "Yes, in fact, I have a link right here! A romance comedy!"
Tina's treefish: *grumbles*
Daniel: "Copy it to the TV, 'kay? We can watch it on the sofa, then."
Tina's treefish: *Thanks, mate.*
Enter the roommate (who is also Gavin's ex)...
Tina: "Hey, guys! Movie night?"
Tina: "Oh, donut dough balls! May I...?" grabs the whole box
Gavin: "Tina, c'mon! Give us some space!"
Daniel: "Let it rest. I'll change and we'll find ourselves a nice nightclub!"
Arriving at the nightclub, Gavin still didn't know how to address his partner's choice of outfit. It was matching his own, but in a play it safe way, like someone who had absolutely no idea about local fashion might opt to do.
Everyone at Spice Market took Daniel for an englishman, an assessment his recent "you don't have nobility here anymore" comment had cemented. Now Gavin wasn't so certain anymore. There was something odd about Danny, as if he was hailing from real far away.
Wasn't it runmored that aliens could disguise themselves as humans? And then they gave you a baby?!
Daniel: "Look around you!"
Gavin: *winces*
Daniel: "There's our envoy friend again."
Week 2, Part 2 - Someone turns out to be musically gifted!
Royal Envoy: "Would you STOP following me, please?"
Gavin: "Who's following whom here?! Danny and me are on a date!"
Royal Envoy: "I will take my leave now. Meanwhile you familiarize yourself with piano music in preparation for investigating the Capp family heirlooms."
This woman, Gavin thought, was the strangest client he'd ever had as a detective and journalist! She wanted him to help with her investigation, but the tasks she gave him were all vague and seemingly inconsequential. She followed him, yet pushed him away when he interacted. The last lingering doubt vanished: This was the behaviour of a person with an ulterior motive!
The Reeds were in luck: An apartment neighbor of theirs by name of Hank had gotten hired as the pianist this evening. They approached him with their request.
Hank: "You want what? Practise on the piano? Like, this one? In full public?"
Daniel: "Don't worry, Gavin won't touch anything. I'll do it."
Hank: "Yes, that just bumped up your damage deposit to one hundred simoleons. That's my reputation at stake here, kids."
Hank's worries were unfounded. Daniel's playing utilized a different style than his own, but the young man was no less skilled. In fact, they both hit the spot just above hobbyist enthusiasm, good enough to get hired for the occasional gig, but not a full career in music. (Skill level 5, specifically.)
The next evening Daniel got invited to play at Blue Velvet, a small club at the Detroit river. No pay, but all the tips and drinks he could keep.
For Daniel this was all about the new experience, the emotions it would instill in him. He might end this day on a mad rampage or in a loving embrace with everyone in the club and by his nature he was perfectly fine with either and anything in between, preferring neither.
Carried away by the his own playing, Daniel for a moment thought to have seen something glitter in the fireplace. He got up and went to investigate.
Gavin: Where has Danny gone? Outside for a spell, probably. Can't blame him. The smoke from this thing is something else. Must be ancient by Detroit standards.
Meanwhile Daniel - or rather Danilo of Everdew - went to take a closer look at the fireplace.
Unnoticed by Gavin, Daniel emerged from the fireplace just when the envoy and a weirdly dressed clubgoer looked his way.
The latter ran away in panic at the sight of a blue fairy swiftly growing to human size.
The envoy watched a little longer, before she decided that she probably had had a drink too many.
Gavin: "YOU here? Again? Anyway, what was that about the fireplace?"
Envoy: "What fireplace? I didn't mention any..."
Gavin: "...(curseword) fireplace! I heard you mumble to yourself about it!"
Daniel: "Let it rest. It's nothing."
Gavin: "So what did the "nothing" consist of? You poked the fireplace while she wasn't looking, right?"
Daniel: "You bet! I found change money from the 18th century that's worth five thousand simoleons today, an ornate ring and another key."
(That money doubled their household funds.)
Gavin: "That's wild! The archive and the nightclub date back to the 1760s, right after the British took over Detroit from the French. Someone went to a lot of trouble to hide the keys in the New World."
Daniel: "Yeah. And all without me notici... Uh."
Gavin: "So she's the envoy of Veronaville and you are, what? MI6?"
Daniel: "I got sent to Detroit, and to this neighborhood specifically, but I can't disclose any more."
Gavin: "Keep the details to yourself. I just needed you to know that I figured it out. Love you, baby."
It was great reading how Daniel and Gavin went in doing this week’s quest tasks. It would have given the Royal Envoy and the other person at the nightclub a surprise when Daniel turned into a small fairy version size when investigating the fireplace, then suddenly returning back to his normal fairy size again! 🙂It is good that he now has the ornate ring and the Capp family ring.

The Envoy was over again, and Gideon asked about the Capp Family, and the Envoy seemed surprised to see Gideon again, which Gideon found odd, after all, the Envoy was at his house. The least surprising spot to find him. The Envoy told Gideon about how the Capps were quite captivated by romance, and said maybe he should get in the mindset, maybe he'll find some clues.
The Envoy left after that, and Gideon was momently at a lost, how would he get into the mindset of love and romance?
Well, the first thing he knew he should do is head to the computer. He needed to do some research about the Capps. He found out about the Capps romantic inclinations and love for the piano, it was all very interesting.
Then, after he finished his research, he went to watch some romantic tv, what better way to learn about romance?
After Gideon did his research watching romance TV, he grabbed a bite to eat, His moms, Noelle and Kenndi had a romantic moment with each other.
Gideon had another chat with the Envoy, and while Gideon was asking her about romance and music, he noticed that the Envoy looked ready to leave. The Envoy told Gideon that he should take a moment and learn to play the piano, and if he discovered anything to only tell her, and then she left.
How hard could playing the piano be? Gideon seen his mom and brother play often enough, they make it seem easy, so he sat down at the piano and practiced.
Gideon and his brother, Major went out to the Blue Velvet Nightclub, and before they went in, Gideon was telling Major about the Envoy and everything he knew about the Capps, and how he hoped to run into the envoy while he.
They went and started dancing to the music, he overhears the Envoy say something about the fireplace, he asks about it, and the Envoy quickly says, "What? Oh, I wasn’t saying anything. Just enjoying the atmosphere!”
Hmm, Gideon was pretty sure she said something about the fireplace, but what could be up with it?
While he pondered what the Envoy found interesting about the fireplace, he decided to dazzle the Nightclub with his level 1 piano skill, and he even got a tip, he's glad someone liked it.
While playing the piano, and trying to channel emotion into it, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye; the flame dances with the rhythm of the music, and he notices something though the flames.
Gideon searches the fireplace, and spies a loose stone, and behind that loose stone, there was another key! Gideon knew he better hide this key in a safe place.
Then he had to head off to his part job, and Major spent a bit more time hanging out at the nightclub and then he headed home.

2nd week of the event went fine. Here are some screenshots mostly from the Peran family.
Chaz looked a little wary of the Envoy. Stranger Danger? 😟
While Dave upgraded the treehouse ...
Rachel researched the Capp family history.
The fun part of the event--flirting! 😄
Rachel is only level 1 in the piano skill. She's going to need a LOT more practice to entertain important guests!
Meanwhile Dave tried reciting a few jokes but had trouble remembering them. 😆
He did find an old key while investigating the fireplace where the Envoy had disappeared.
Now the family has 3 antique keys ... and no clue what they're for!
I checked out the new saddle and the ring in CAS. I like the saddle. Great color swatches.
The ring is definitely an antique style and would only fit certain outfits. But it's nice. Different.
Men can wear the ring too. In fact, it might be better suited for males. 🤔
I almost forgot about the Capp Library Bookcase. It's actually a secret door!
Extra pics from the Peran Household:
Why are bathrooms so popular for sims to gather? 🤪
It was a bit odd that the Royal Envoy was surprised to see him when it was his own home! 🙂It was great that he learnt more about the Capp family when he used the computer. Doing the Event was a great opportinuty for him to start learning the piano sklll. I hope that you will continue to keep playing the piano, and that his skill level increases. It was good that he got a tip from playing at the Night club! It was great that at the end of this week’s task he was able to find the ring.
It is a cute picture of Chaz with the Royal Envoy ❤️He does look concerned at who she may be! It is a sweet photo of Dave and Rachel flirting for the event in the treehouse 💗 I hope that Rachel’s piano skill level may continue to keep rising. The keys look great in the antique cabinet. The new saddle is lovely. The patterns are very nice. The new ring gem colours and antique design are lovely, and could have a special background story of it being a treasured ring handed down through a family. The pictures of the toddlers and the dogs are very sweet! ❤️
Lol, I demolished the Blue Velvet nightclub long long ago. I'd replaced it with a cafe. So I added bar stools and a stereo to meet the nightclub requirements then a fireplace and piano to complete the event tasks. I also changed the name back to Blue Velvet. Just in case. 😃
