Lot Trait - Generic. What Do You Use It For?

I set my wedding venues to generic, but then I can't have an actual wedding party there unless I change the lot type to lounge before the party. But it prevents clubs that meet at "any lounge" from being randomly dumped at a wedding venue.

I find it useful for lots that I want my Sims to go to, but when I don't want NPCs around. For dating purposes, for example.

I made a movie theater and gave it the generic lot type. Wedding venues too.

I like the idea of using a generic lot as a supplemental space for a sim, especially if it is an adjacent lot. Makes me think of the space behind my grandparent's old house with a hobby/storage shack and even went back to the river. Could make it into a Chinese Garden with boardwalk, ponds, and spaces for skill building.

@Daephene I've had wedding parties at my generic lot church without having to change the lot type.

When I go to throw a party, two generic lots show up on the list but the others don't unless I change the lot type. I have no idea why.

I use it when I don't want anyone but my sims on the lot.

I put the large objects in my generic lots for my sims to use, that are too big to go in my sims houses

Yeah wedding venues are usually not an option for throwing weddings on generic lot; at least that has been my experience and others I’ve read about. Had to change my wedding venue to a “park” in order to use it as an option for weddings.
