Agreed. I'm sure other similar UI have done it that way in the past - for example, the holiday traditions in Seasons, wouldn't they only show you activities from packs you owned?
Adding in activities for everyone, owned or not, is just more advertising. As if a pop-up EVERY SINGLE TIME I open the game telling me to buy the Menswear pack (no, I won't) and the cart button next to the gallery wasn't enough. - crocobaura1 year agoLegend

Completely agree, the only thing I liked was the bed, and that's because the beds we have in the game all look nice. This one looks more unique. I don't see what use I would get from the smeared mascara except making an outfit that they would wear when they have broken up with someone and are in a sad mood? Why would I waste an outfit slot on that? It's just going to look weird wearing it when they are in a default/happy mood.
logionXI think that might work well for a rocker or goth sim. I agree with you that smeared make-up makes no sense if it's not triggered in game, either by crying or contact with water.

The hilarious part of the clothing attraction is that it's so temporary.
"I love my spouse! Oh wait, did he just put on a green shirt? Ew, time for a divorce."
I understand they probably don't want to wade into the waters of attraction to overweight/underweight. But things like piercings/tattoos are optional modifications in real life, so what's the harm in including them? And if you can be turned on/off by a hair color, why not body hair? (And they have no problem with putting in an interaction where sims can mock another sim's body hair, so...)
Personally I would have at least added piercings, tattoos, glasses, eye color and body hair to make it more robust. - GrumpyGlowfish1 year agoSeasoned Ace
I'm glad we're finally getting turn-ons and turn-offs, but I already have one major turn-off about that: Where are the physical ones, like age, body type, body hair (or lack thereof), makeup, tattoos, fitness level? Those are all real things that can make or break attraction for real people, and leaving them out just because they're superficial doesn't sit well with me in a life simulation game. (And it's also ironic because TS4 is otherwise a very shallow and superficial game.) What definitely isn't a thing in real life is people rejecting potential love interests because of the colour of their clothes. Seriously, unless you're some hardcore goth who thinks that black is the only colour that should exist, who does that?
Also, sorry if I'm repeating points that others have made before, I haven't read everything because I find this new layout very confusing and I'm just glad that I figured out how to post at all.

You can have fashion style as a TOTO. It's to the right of the outfit colors, and when they mouse over it the sim in question is turned on by "Basics, Hipster, Outdoorsy, Polished" and turned off by "Rocker, Streetwear".
Wish they'd included eye color/piercings/tattoos/body hair as TOTOs too (and I'd probably throw in glasses). - LuvMySimz1 year agoSeasoned Ace
Making functional weight would have meant creating new animations. Apparently they had no "interest" in doing so.

If people couldn't form opinions before owning something, marketing would not be a thing.
The point of the marketing is to introduce a product to potential consumers and convince them to buy it, which means they want you to have an opinion about it. If you have absolutely no opinion about the product - any opinion, anything from mildly interested to absolutely disgusted - their marketing has failed. - JesLet401 year agoSeasoned Ace
You're right, and yes, it has been mentioned before. But I agree with you. I mean if I absolutely hate yellow and my date shows up in a canary yellow suit I might not be overwhelmed by his sense of style but it would very rarely be that bad. Most of us would just live with the ugly sweater or accidentally shrink it in the wash... not that I ever have, of course. 🤫
I think they are so anxious to insult anyone that they have completely lost any edge instead.

I do like a few things in the pack, but not enough to spend full price. My main concern, as a cc and very few mods user, I can already see that this time lots of CAS cc - not only mods - will not be working anymore with all the changes made to the UI and like the new eye lashes for example, the copy/paste outfit function etc. I feel sorry for creators, and the Studio team gonna be busy creating batch-fixes if even posible.

I'm so glad we have mods that do turn ons / turn offs correctly.
