Yeah it's true. I had one household which loaded really slowly, when I cleared out their inventory they loaded much faster. This included things in their household catalogue, and items in their inventory like collectibles and photos.
Tray folder, relationships between sims, save file size affects load times as well. If you have a save that you have played for a long time you are going to get longer loading times but I think Maxis have done a pretty good job with improving it over the years.
Thanks, I'm going to try it and yes, there is mainly one game among some others that I have played a long time and contains the most sims and filled lots too.
