Yeah, I used to get lag in complex lots as well, so I try and keep them simple now. San Myshuno lags for me as well - vanilla or modded.
From some user reports, having a monster PC doesn't seem to help either.
Having a gaming PC seems to help with some issues, but it doesn't seem to make them immune to them. I still get simulation lag relatively frequently and some stuttering lag every now and then.
I've noticed that TS4 uses about 60-80% of my CPU when I'm running it. :anguished:

Stuttering lag or simulation lag?
It's like when I click on a sim, I have to click a few times for it to transfer over to make the sim active. For example, I'm playing Joyce and Harry. Harry is active, but I want Joyce to do something....I click on Joyce's face but it stays on Harry...like it's stuck for a few. So the game lags a bit and I'm clicking Joyce's face like crazy until it transfers over to her. If that makes sense.
I get this on most lots that I play sometimes. The lag isn't extreme, but sometimes there is a noticeable delay when switching Sims. I actually don't mind a little bit of lag, and when I say a little bit, I mean the occasional stutter. However, it's the simulation lag that drives me crazy. Having more than two club gatherings at once seems to cause simulation lag and even going to the library has started causing noticeable simulation lag for me.
