Marriage Issues *-* can not get married b/c of employ *-*

Question

Anyone else having an issue with Sims not being able to get married?

I know this has been an old bug and was fixed, but I think its come back. I've never had a problem until a few days ago.

"Marrying a Sim in your employ would be inappropriate. Dismiss them from their role to further pursue a relationship"

Neither of my sims have any other romantic relationships. She was a designer and he was in the Sim Army.

The Male sim was married and his wife died. After she died I had her move back into to the house as a Ghost and continued the romantic relationship. But then I sent her back to the netherworld and destroyed her tombstone. He then got together with his current fiance and moved in and now they can not get married.

The Female sim was also married and he died also. But i just sent him to the netherworld and destroyed his tombstone.

The problem lies with the Male sim. The option is grayed out for him but it's available for her to "elope immediately"

I dont post on these forums so it's likely this is posted in the wrong section, but it wouldn't let me choose "bugs & game play issues"

I've tried cheats, tried destroying the relationships, having the male sim move out and nothing.

Try repairing your game.

Definitely repair your game, then maybe whip up a test save to see if it’s still happening.

Are either of your intended in another 'official' relationship? Maybe have another boy-, girlfriend or engaged to someone else as well? Because I have this problem with one of my couple but one of the man has a girlfriend so he can't get married until I break up that relationship. I have also repaired my game, so I guess the breakup will happen. I don't want to break that relationship up just yet for story purposes but when that story runs its course the breakup will happen and hopefully my couple can get married then.

But with her Tombstone gone &amp; her in the netherworld, i dont believe there's any way for him to break up with his dead wife.
