I've had it since before the patch, and the patch did nothing for me. The only workaround that I've seen work is to use testingcheats, and go into cas.fulleditmode and make the sims married. It still provides a moodlet, and satisfies the whim if you have it. Not the wedding you want, but sometimes that's all you get.
