Mature Sims

Would you want The Sims franchise to create a rated M Sims game? IDK how old most people are here, but I played OG The Sims waaay back when I was in the 6th grade. They kept my attention maybe up until the early years of 3. I bought TS4 because this game was such a canonized part of my life. Maybe I'm no longer the targeted audience nearing 30, but the game is not as entertaining.

One problem could be, EA has no competition. I slightly remember a game called Singles where the whole objective was to hook up with random people. I'm not saying that's what I want from The Sims, but sheesh, find someway to keep it exciting. There's no challenge or taboo in this game.

TL;DR: Do you feel The Sims needs a competitor or a more "mature" version of the game.
  • They won't ever do that, because in the past there were some parents who have attempted to take EA to court involving The Sims games. As far as what you are talking about, there is stuff like that, but EA is not in competition with them.
  • I don't really feel like we need a more mature version of the Sims 4, simply because it already exists for those who want to have it and play more mature content for this game. We have a very talented community of cc and mod creators who have already done some pretty amazing (and sometimes pretty wild) things to add those aspects to the game as it is.

That said, I DO feel that the Sims franchise would benefit from a competitor because it would force the creators to go outside their box I think, creatively. I don't mean to say that the team is not creative. I think they are and love the content we currently have (bugs excepted), but I think having competition would force them to broaden their scope for the game.

I'm going to close this off here folks as it's going in a direction that's not entirely appropriate for the forum, The Sims is rated T and as far as I'm aware that is the way it's staying.

It's already rated M in Australia...

Really? What gave it the M rating?
  • I guess it would depend on what it would entail. Because some of these mods are more than just a 'M' rating.

Let's leave out the references to adult mods please ~Rtas

in Australia the m rating means age 15 and closer to teen rating in the US. The us m rating is called r18 or something in Australia. So basically the games are rated the same
