Maxis going in wrong direction with expansion pack gameplay?

See my issue with the sims 4 isnt its packs, it's the base game, I think if/when they add more meat too the bones of the base game, the sims 4 could possibly be a match for its predecessors, let's face it there is alot of things that the sims 4 done better in my opinion, such as CAS, build & buy, restaurants, spa, vampires, celebrities, bars , witches, coffee shop and graphics, lot traits are great aswell and holidays customising
