Maxis going in wrong direction with expansion pack gameplay?

I believe Imo that EA/Maxis have went down an different path by messing with the formula too much. I feel it is too late in the game to make an change and it has to ultimately get to the ending and make an new start and not make the same mistake they made in this version. The game at best is just a little under average and never will be GOTY material. Yes Sims 4 will be remembered not for being the best, but the most controversial even more than Sims 3 by some.
