Maxis going in wrong direction with expansion pack gameplay?

I'm honestly sick and tired of these world focused/vacation packs, like Island Living and Snowy Escape. They give you a new world, but the gameplay is boring and stuck in one world. And for $40!
Expansion packs need to expand the gameplay through all of your game, not just one world.
They need to do more packs like Discover University, Get Famous, and Get Together, where you get a new world, and have gameplay that changes your whole game.
