Maxis really looked us in the eye and said "no snow depth" AGAIN

I can't express enough how frustrating it is that a pack with the word "snow" in it's name has done essentially nothing to improve snow or Winter weather itself. Sure, we have the new icy and thunder snow storm conditions and occasional snow drifts, but the gurus stated they are unique to the new mountain region. Snow on roofs and the ground is still dreadfully 2D. I also very much hoped for icicles on roof edges to make a comeback, but no. So much of this pack looks phenomenal, and yet the most essential element of the pack, snow, was left basically as is from Seasons development....a massive missed opportunity. Still excited for this pack, but largely disappointed in these decisions.
  • I honestly wish it was more like TS3 snow (and TS3 seasons features all together), but I think they are trying to find a better way to do things. By the end of TS3 certain things were too heavy/buggy in gameplay and I think they are trying weed certain things out to see how it affects overall gameplay.

Maybe in a future update after they see how Snowy Escape goes, they will give it to us.

They would not add this with all worlds or come back and do it. The reason is this is not a Seasons Expansion pack Part 2. They have the budget to spend for the development of This expansion not for updating the previous expansion. If they use their budget in redoing snow in all worlds, what would be left for Snowy Escape? Also every neighborhood in the game was crafted by hand. I am pretty sure that one guru talks about it on how every neighborhood has to be designed for snow.

You raise a good point, but at the same time, development budgets are not that black and white.

Why is everyone so upset about no snow depth? What's so interesting about it?

Me personally I'm not upset I could live without it. It's just visually more realistic and very pleasing to the eye ???

Apparently it’s a buy debug item? So it might be possible to add to lots in the future.

I’m not that bothered because I already felt the disappointment when Seasons came out, and I’ve gotten over it. I’m not letting that dampen the excitement I have for what this pack does offer.

Do you mean we can buy the snow in debug as an item??
