I run a super computer -with a big wide screen - I thought gameboys were ridiculous as well- my kids had tons of those games, and their kids now like the mobile games- Not my thing at all. Oh and I have 20-20 vision so not a problem looking at them - I just see no point - never mind none of the kind of control I like. Heck I won't even use a laptop - if that tells you anything. I ran my desktop in a camper for two summers - and there were 2 laptops in the camper - brand new, even 1 gaming laptop - not interested. I like desktops I create myself with my components of choice. I am as choosy about the games I play.
I play my games on my desk computer as well, because I like to actually see easily what I'm doing and have the controls I want. I did play S3 on a laptop when I was pregnant and couch bound for my whole pregnancy and that was a huge help to me for getting through the day not moving. When I get a new gaming computer however, it will be a desk top. My kids also had the Gameboys and I just didn't see it as why play Mario & monkey games on the gameboy when a huge tv screen is available. I did try Sims freeplay and I didn't like the leveling up part because I actually hate it in the Sims games as well. Only played it for around 15mins. I've not tried/considered mobile and I probably won't. The only thing I want a phone game for and my phone has a large screen is to play a random game like blackjack while I'm waiting on whatever and can't be doing what I would like. :)
If a bigger screen is the only important thing then people play on Xbox or PlayStation instead because their TV usually have a bigger screen than their PC has. So when you choose PC for your games then obviously it isn’t just about the size of the screen.
The Sims Freeplay shouldn’t be compared to the PC game because simmers will always just be disappointed if they expect it to be a free game that they can play all the time instead of buying the PC game.
But the Sims Freeplay is a mobile game that like most other mobile games only is meant to be played in short breaks when you have 5-10 minutes between lessons in school, in a bus, at home before dinner or whatever. I still play the Sims Freeplay. But along with other similar mobile games and the Sims Freeplay isn’t even my preferred game anymore because it is much less interesting when you are at its top level and can’t expand much anymore. So I only play the Sims Freeplay now for its weekly new events.
