If you go to the library in strangerville and read into the archivesbyou can get some lore on it and the town. Pretty much discovering it out on your own while making theories.

The hero of strangerville perk makes sense to me. Such a small out of the way town that doesn't have much, so you definitely just get mostly knick knacks in the mail along with free bar drinks and food.

The Story could have a Little bit more Depth.

It would be cool, if the secret Police Officers were more involved and trying to cover things up. Trying to stop your Sim from Investigation. The beginning where they took you frigde is cool, but thats it. I would love to see more Interactions with the Secret Agents, more dangeour,like your sim has to worry about them, not catching you. The same goes with the Secret Lab why was it so easy to get there. I mean i know everyone flew away, but still, it should be coverd, it should be harder to get there, maybe only at night times, maybe some more Text Adventures, and if you choose the wrong one, you could not get on that lot.
And then the end, maybe i am wrong, because i watched only Lps, but is there even a Trophy or some kind of an Achievement?. A Statue would be nice. Tough i like that you can get Fan Mails, thats cool.

And i think it would be better, if Maxis would actually explain, why the mother Plant was so big, and what happened, why StrangeTown is strange, became strange...
I know they said, that they did this on purpose, so the player can set their on assumptions, but i still think its kinda lame, for a story game.
Other than that, i thought it was cool. A little bit too much tutorials going on, even in the trailer. I know Kids play too, but this was a little bit too much guidance.

But after all, it was cool.

After 3 pop ups that say nothing in regards as to how it got there and what actually happened, they start to repeat themselves. The story is shallow just like the game itself. I don't even get the point of the secret agents since they only show up once lmao. And don't tell me it was lack of budget, I've seen the huge texts they write for the object descriptions in the buy catalogue. Even McDonald's food is more detailed than this GP.

I was like "meh.. so this is it?" when I completed the story as well.

The only real benefit of this pack for me is the cute victorian building elements. I like those very much.

Yeah I get what you mean. I'm not a big fan of enforced storytelling, and I also didn't like the constant back and forth between lots. But, I did really love the world! Now that the story is out of the way, I never plan to go back to it (it was fine, but just something to get through before I could just play how I wanted to in the world) but I do really love the world and the build objects that came with it. I wish there was a way to remove all the "Talk about Strangerville" interactions that are cluttering up my menu once the story is told, and a way to bulldoze the secret lab so I could use it as a giant lot of my choosing.

I purposefully didn't read all of the posts in this thread. I am just now playing Strangerville. I'm using it as a specific Mission for my Star Trek Enterprise crew. I don't mind the back and forth, especially if in doing so I can gather valuable clues. Now, will it survive another go-through? That I can't say. I just know that San Salvador is a complete bust in my eyes.

Well, personally I liked it even though it involved a lot of socializing which is something that I usually don't do with my Sims. I liked the fact that the StrangerVille pre-mades and the majority of townies had decent traits and aspirations. Most of them were keepers unlike San Myshuno and Vampire townies who all seem to have the same 6 names, with 1 or more negative traits (mean, evil, lazy, slob, erratic, kleptomaniac) with a large number also having genius, goofball, and romantic traits. Genius is the only trait that I don't mind but there seems to be a disproportionate number of them compared to other traits.

The story itself was fine given the fact that it had to be kept short and fairly simple. For me, it added a bit of a challenge along with a nice looking world with some quirky Sims. I did edit some of the pre-mades because I don't like big cartoony heads or exaggerated facial features.

I don't particularly like the reward trait for completing the story but it's fine. The Sims that completed the aspiration get their sparkling water and nectar free at the 8 Bells which is a karaoke bar now. The fan mail is usually pretty bad though. Oh, those fans.

So while it wasn't perfect, StrangerVille was a nice change of pace for me.

Eh. It plays exactly how I expect a sims adventure to play. The flower didn't surprise me much cause it reaked of stranger things from the first trailer.

Looking back at the speculation for the pack, I found a lot of fan theories to be more interesting than what we got. I'm was especially fond of all the cult theories. It would have been less predictable, too.

I enjoyed playing it through with my sim. I don't think I would ever want to repeat it though as I don't really see any reason to and I do agree that the end of it was a huge let down. It could of been so much better.
