Memories are still in the game, but they aren't actual memories now, they are more like...screenshots that when you click on a button in the menu sims will get a moodlet based on the emotion they were feeling in the shot.
They took out the memory timelines attached to each sim. So now it's just a screenshot mess of a menu they call memories. I to this day do not understand the reason behind nerfing/taking out almost completely a feature.
