I have not seen this, but I have noticed that elderly sims (think 90 years) that I had retired, were assigned new careers by the game. I have all kinds of story progression turned off and no mods dealing with jobs. I wish the game would remember the career story of each sim, especially when they are retired. In TS3 I think we could even see how they did in school, long after they graduated. In TS4 all tracks of education seems to vanish the second you blow out those candles...
I don't ask the game to keep track on all details, just a simple line for each career a sim had, just the last job per career. And for school, simply the grade. Should not need much data programming these codes that already exist, but it would be of great help learning to know and plan the future steps for each sim.
