Yeah, it is deep rooted in stereotypes about those that live in rural areas. All in all, it is just supposed to be a funny thing in some of the older games. It would turn milk to milkshakes, which is obviously impossible.
But yeah, anyone foolish enough to try it after seeing it in the Sims would probably get gored or trampled. Then again, that is just the difference between games and reality so I don't know why we would have to be that sensitive.
