Missing foot glitch

Been looking all over the internet for a fix, but everything I find is for the Sims 3. I have cleaned my mods folder several times and it fixed it until I left the lot. The sim(s) in question do not have any mods on them and the others in the house do not have this issue. Any ideas?

  • The "missing foot" glitch can be frustrating, especially when it persists despite cleaning your mods folder. While this isn't directly related to mods, it might be worth exploring other ways to relieve stress while troubleshooting—like using a foot massager to relax! 😊 Jokes aside, you might want to check if the issue occurs with any specific custom shoes or if clearing the game's cache resolves it. Also, try repairing the game through your platform (Origin, EA app, etc.). Let us know if you find a solution!

  • I may be wrong, but I recall that's it's a rare side effect of a height slider mod.

I don't think it was a particular mod but rather the localthumbcache file. it worked for me too

    What mod was causing it?

Hooray! Glad to have helped. :)
  • Thanks! Gonna try that :) I do try to remember to delete the thumbnail, but always worried about deleting the other cache lol

First, back up your Sims 4 folder so if anything goes wrong, you don't lose anything and can get everything back.

To fix this, I would suggest to remove all mods and cc, then delete the localthumbcache file in your Sims 4 folder. This file is known to cause issues whenever you add or remove mods/cc. It's actually best to get into the habit of deleting it every time you make a change to your mods folder, even if it's just one piece of cc. This file will auto-generate each time the game is loaded up, if deleted.

Also, I would suggest deleting the files in the cache folder as well. Then do a game repair in Origin and try out the game completely vanilla to see if the problem is gone. If it is, you can try to put your mods and cc back in, but again, first delete the localthumbcache.

    Good luck to you. :)
