- GalacticGal5 years agoLegendI don't know if just having played a Sim matters at all. I played the nuclear household: Joseph, Louise Cantrell and their five children: Aaron, Erik, Joey, Brianna and Adrian. Then took the four oldest off to Uni. From Uni they went to live with the only sister and her betrothed. From there Erik, my Global Superstar, his wife and their first child along with Joey and his fiancée to live in another household of their own. So, they have ALL been played. Yet, at one point Erik's brother-in-law shows up as the Entertainer to the Starlight Accolades. :open_mouth: In some way, it was kind of fun. He wasn't the Host, which would have been even more fun. But, alack and alas, it never happened. All of my Sims have jobs, too.

I had to take NPCC out because it's outdated and the most up-to-date version (still outdated) is locked behind a paywall on Patreon. It causes issues with some of the new NPCs we've gotten I'm pretty sure.
Maybe it's not that big of a deal for others right now.. I just wanted the OP to be aware.
Yeah I was just suggesting it as an option. I have the most recent version and I’m not proud to admit that I did patreon a while back for it. I am actually that desperate to keep random townies from my game. The creator Paulson seems to be MIA for a while now which since has lead me to cancel it.
In my game it causes many issues not just with new NPC’s but other areas of the game too. I don’t get any alien abductions with it installed and some of my active work careers are lacking staff. I keep having to take it out to let sims spawn where they are needed. It’s a very frustrating situation for me because I really don’t want random townies but I would very much like my game to function properly at the same time. :( - @SimplyJen
Thank you, I have read there are some issues with the NPCC mod not being updated quickly so that put me off trying it out even though some players have experienced good results.

Nope like @GalacticGal points out what she has noticed it in her game mine is the same and when I see big bad Vlad I am playing turn up as a food stall server when I am playing other families I am like arrrggg :) I cannot ignore it I just can't as the next time I go back to play him all I can see is him dressed in that apron :D

I am going to try this when I hop in game later. I have been so busy in RL today I did not have time to try this out until later tonight but I will come back a report if it works :)

I know the NPCC mod sounds awesome but when I saw the length of time it took the creator to update it I decided not to use it as players were also experiencing issues as you have described plus I did not want to use it find it awesome and then have to do without it lol

You'll just need to install the unimportantsims module if you don't care about the rest of the mod.

I use NPCC to assign roles in my town, so I don't have any problems with vendors. I know NPCC is outdated and locked behind a paywall, so Zero has provided an alternative. They even have a No Random Townies, as well.
I do also use Lotharihoe's Sim Spawn Overhaul. It does have an option in the mod to have vendors only be homeless sims only. - Hi @83bienchen
I use a few of your mods already and the only reason i never tried this one was because it mentions pets/strays and i use a mod by LMS that stops sick and hungry animals/strays roaming around my worlds which i personally cannot bear to see so i never knew if something would conflict so could you tell me if you think anything would conflict with that? or I don't mind using nonewpetstrays or nohiddenpetstrays if you can tell me which one to choose to stop any strays wondering around? and stop using LMS. Also what does unimportant sims mean and only one package is this referring to the jungle, strangerville or celebrities or realm of magic choice (just choose one of these versions?) or can i have all these?
I defo like the sound of no more SV inhabitants wandering around infected (I play an infected game in that world-)
I also like the idea of no more unplayable spellcasters being made too.
While I am used to using mods I don't use anything i don't completely understand or think might conflict but i would be very willing to try this mod out if I can understand more about it especially if it will stop the eyesore that is vald working on a food stall :)

Thanks for those links as well. I am reading the sim spawn overhaul and Zero's mod but sometimes I get confused because some of these mods look so in depth I find myself wondering if I am going to be able to figure it all out :) I don't need tons of options just one that will stop played sims being used in NPC roles. I am sure I am going to be able to find one that works i just need to work out which mod is the easiest to deal with :) - 83bienchen5 years agoSeasoned Ace

I don't think it conflits with LittleMsSams strays mod - it should not because it definately does not conflict with my catanddogssanity Mod, which does basically the same. But I cannot confirm it because I don't use that mod and it's a script mod I cannot check.
Nonewpetstrays stops pet strays from been generated. You will have to delete the ones that you already have using MCC if you want to get rid of those as well.
Nohiddenpetstrays makes newly generated pet households visible households so you can delete strays you do not like for whatever reason. - Thank you @83bienchen
I am just so used to using LMS's for the pets mod because that mod has been out forever and I have never seen a stray/sick animal wandering around and that's what I was after as I just cannot bear to see that even as pixels-)
Now I know it wont conflict I will defo be trying it out because your mod appears to be a lot less complicated than other ones out there where I feel I could make a mistake due to me misunderstanding something. I appreciate the time you took to reply to me and explain things :) - whubble18175 years agoSeasoned AceI use the about a million Bienchen mods too LOL and NPCC, which gives you settings to direct which sims to use for NPC jobs. It also gives you to option to not generate sick pets etc. I use MCCC to pull only sims from my library rather than having the game generate sims. Some might say I am a control freak HAHA

I think sims is the game that finally proved I had OCD and definite control issues :s I cannot play unless all my worlds and sims are perfect otherwise while I am trying to play I keep noticing things I feel I need to change immediately and have to stop. I have never tried NPCC as it never appeared to get updated properly and while some other good mod creators stepped in with their own version of the mod sometimes a mod can be just too involved for what i am looking for and after @83bienchen answered a couple of concerns I had above I think this mod is one I will be going with now..I use that many mods that I almost experience a panic attack every time the word "patch" is mentioned :)
