Must Have Kits??

What kits you like greatly depends on your personal interests. I like looking at sims community or YouTube reviews to see all items included. 

My personal favourites 

• book Nook kit: customise bookcases with modular book cases and nice and cozy couches. I use this kit in practically every build .
• Little campers kit: nice kit with several usable items like a doll house, swing set, games table, . . . Great for family homes 
• Every day clutter kit: nice accents throughout your building. Especially useful if you like to build 
• Cozy kitsch kit: I didn't expect to use it as much as I do. The couches, chairs and lights are very useful in almost every building 
• Modern lux kit: very stylish bedroom with a vanity table. A cohesive set for an entire bedroom. The cushions are great to make all couches look more cozy
• Story book nursery: I usually go for the lighter colour swatches but very much like it for my youngest sims

Honorable mention: castle estate kit: great and very complete set to build (but not furnish) a castle. But it's very niche. 

I use the kits I mentioned here in the majority of my buildings and am very happy with them. CAS kits aren't really my thing. I only own one so I think others are more qualified to make recommendations for CAS. 

There are SO many! Here's a list of the BB ones I probably use most often:

Sorry, I couldn't narrow it down more than that. Lol. I can also see me using the two newest BB kits loads too - Restoration Workshop and Kitchen Clutter. I've used them in my current household but haven't played for long with them. For CAS kits, these two are probably the ones I like the most:

• Poolside Splash
• Simtimates

I would say no kit is must have. But since I do not like to download CC, I have a bunch of them. I am a CAS versus BB person but find that I used the BB kits more.  The only two I would be sad if I didn’t have in my game.

• Cozy Kitsh- it seems dumb but having a full couch set is a game changer. I also love the dining table. Nice colors. I find that I use it in many builds
• Nook book kit- this is my old favorite. 10/10. Every item works. Love the swatches. It perfectly fits my style.

The next few are ones I love and get a lot of use out of, but don’t consider must have.

• Poolside Splash- these are now my go to swimsuits
• First fits kits- kids always need more stuff. I will say this is a beige style.
• Little campers kit- I use it in my backyards a lot. It’s nice to have new styles of gameplay objects.
• Moonlight Chic- this has some nice CAS items. I use the blazer and dress all the time
• Modern lux kit- I use it for my fancy builds a lot. I really like the artwork that came with this and the vanity.
• Incheon Arrivals- this used to be a go to. I don’t use it as much anymore, but I did get a lot of use out of it.

these next few are what I personally wish I would’ve skipped because I don’t get use out of them. Not saying they’re bad.

• Industry Loft kit- I just feel like I don’t use the style enough to justify owning it
• Fashion Street- I love the items in this pack. So well done. But I only use it in very specific Sims.
• Blooming rooms- I only really use the very tiny plant that came with this pack. I use it all the time, but that’s not enough.
• Throwback fit kit- besides the dresses in the pack I use other workout gear in the game
• Bathroom clutter kit- I like the other clutter kit. But I don’t find myself reaching for this one. I prefer a cleaner look in the bathroom.

My kits top 5 (I'm more into BB as you can see):

1. Storybook Nursery - a must have kit if you play infants
2. Book Nook - I wasn't into this at launch but when I bought it it's been a pleasure to have
3. Cozy Bistro - I loved giving a makeover to some of my places, it really gives a community lot a different vibe
4. Blooming Rooms - I know this was available for free after I bought it, but it's one of my favourites nevertheless. There are three plants with the tiniest footprint and those are so good to have. Nice plants overall.
5. Simtimates Collection - I don't use CC so the new underwear was really nice to have!

Honorable mention: Artist Studio - at first I thought this would be good only for the new woodworking table, but it's been really adding some vibes to my community lots and creative spaces.

I like the ones with a little bit of added game play:

1. Little Campers - you get the don't wake the llama/bigfoot game even without Get Together, a fire pit and cooking s'mores on it without Outdoor Retreat or Horse Ranch, a dollhouse that is relatively cheap and since it's made from cardboard boxes actually makes sense being the size that it is, a big projection screen without Movie Stuff, a swing set without any of the expansion packs that include them, and a relatively cheap kid's activity table.
2. Riviera Retreat also has a fire pit if that's what you're looking for, though if you're only getting one kit I'd still go with Little Campers.
3. Book Nook has a lot of objects that you can use to unobtrusively place books in ways that they will actually stay when you save the lot to your library (unlike books you place inside bookshelves) which I like for custom library collections or reference books on public lots.
4. Storybook Nursery has a rocking chair and changing table.
5. Casanova Cave has another giant screen, though again if you're just getting one kit I'd go with Little Campers. Vastly different looks though; Casanova Cave's would not look out of place in a movie theater build.
6. Kitchen Clutter has the grocery bag you can order groceries from (if you have Cottage Living & like playing with its Simple Living lot challenge, this will be wonderful for playing with both Off the Grid and Simple Living together). It also has a lot of fun touches like getting cereal from the cereal boxes and cookies from the cookie jar.
7. Restoration Workshop has the appliances that can be purchased broken and restored in order to use them.
8. And of course there's the very first gameplay kit - Bust the Dust - but I haven't actually bought that one because I have some concerns about how it integrates into the game (mainly, that there's no broom; I also believe both the dust bunny gifts and moodlets were overpowered originally but they may have been toned down since).

I've also found I use the Grunge Revival CAS items frequently and the Cozy Bistro flooring all the time.

Right now, Kitchen Clutter is becoming a must-have kit for me. Being able to buy from the grocery bag makes the Simple Living challenge easier. Book Nook is another favorite. And Sweet Slumber Party has my favorite sleepwear plus a sleep mask. I often use the athletic wear in Throwback Fits. And Storybook Nursery is great if you like to play with infants and toddlers.

Oh that's nice! I have thought of getting Book Nook too, because it is so popular 😄 The stack of books in it looks so nice and the modular bookshelves would be useful too!
