Eh, there are a few pieces from the preview pics that I could use. I'll know better once I can see all the items and determine if they're separate tops and bottoms, or full body outfits. I'm hoping for separates.
I was hoping for something that either was more basic and unisex (Jeans and Ts, The basic wear of my life) or pushed the envelope a little harder, but from what I've seen I don't think the kit is bad, just a little (okay, a lot) bland - Beardedgeek724 years agoNew Spectator

Thanks for that last post simgirl1010, I hadn't read that one before.
“It will be really interesting to see the reaction of people who are not in fashion. Will the collection change their minds about menswear? Will they try it out?” This one had me laughing and snorting :D
"I hope that the future will be full of cool 13-year-olds in Stefan Cooke!" And there we have it, the intended/expected/desired? demographic for this game. /sigh :(
Funny tho... gender aside, 13 year old of any gender in micro skirts might be... controversial. Also school girl uniforms
really IS a very regional thing, most of the world does not have school uniforms.
On top of that of course is enforcing bad women's fashion trends on men (aka very short skirts with bare legs for autumn and winter??) - Karamazov1234 years agoSeasoned Hotshot

I feel like any kid wearing these clothes, regardless of gender, would get bullied a lot at school. - atreya334 years agoSeasoned AceMy first thought was this is good news for those wanting more male fashion. And then I saw the skirts.
What is strange to me is why this is released in a game where we can already remove male and female tags. The sims 4 is more flexible than any previous version when it comes to dressing males in female clothing and this can be done without mods/cc. So those who really need skirts for men, are probably already dressing them this way."Flikka_Flikka;c-18009461" wrote:
Brace yourselves. The randomly-generated townies are about to get SERIOUS.
And that is the reason why I am not getting this one. Less chance of random male Sims spawning in skirts. I want masculine male sims in my game. No offence to those who do like this type of content. It's personal preference, in my opinion"Simpatsyann;c-18009678" wrote:
The skirts are not the only things in the pack. I'm interested enough to want to see the whole lineup before deciding to buy it or not.
Granted, the first thing I thought of was the pilot episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. :D
I was also reminded of star trek the next generation.
Let's see the rest of the items before I make up my mind. - CAPTAIN_NXR74 years agoSeasoned Veteran

After having lamented - at length (both in and outside of these forums) - the disparity between male, sorry masculine, and feminine CAS asset availability, especially regarding the comparative lack of specifically being able to express male/masculine gender identity I was so happy to hear that Team Maxis had finally amended their lack of equal and fair treatment of men in this game (CAS-wise).SpoilerThen I read the official blog about this kit and saw the images... WHAT. THE. BLOODY. PLUMBOB Team Maxis? We have a lot of problems in this game and this is not how you fix them! The outfits/CAS assets chosen for a product named Modern Menswear are absolutely horrible, the equivalent of wearing full body crocs! (yes that is the worst possible fashion insult imaginable, no amount of swearing and raging is going to top that). And to add insult to misery, that blog rather pretentiously assaults the male gender identity by insinuating you can just 'repurpose', 'redefine', and 'redevelop' masculinity by crudely shoehorning in effeminate traits or characteristics like that's something you can just tinker with at your leisure and expect everyone to agree that's a wonderful idea. It's also insulting to the other gender when you dilute and diminish aspects of their gender identity by blatantly incorporating them into the gender identity they are not. It's gender appropriation! At best this kit should have been named 'Modern Gender Neutralwear Kit' so it wouldn't be this disappointedly misleading and subvert expectations of this kit actually being about MENswear.
Hopefully the next few kits will be: The Sims 4 Stylish Menswear Kit, The Sims 4 Cool Menswear Kit, The Sims 4 Much Needed More Men's Underwear Kit, The Sims 4 Manly Menswear Kit, The Sims 4 Sexy Menswear Kit, The Sims 4 Smart Menswear Kit, The Sims 4 Casual Menswear Kit, The Sims 4 Fabulous Menswear Kit, The Sims 4 Athletic Menswear Kit, The Sims 4 Clubbing Menswear Kit, The Sims 4 Punk Menswear Kit, or maybe, you know, The Sims 4 Actual Menswear Kit! All of these would have been better than this... "modern"? menswear kit!
Addendum: Dragons! Unrelated to any 'wear' kits. Please! If not for me than for any other simmers that want dragons :p
Thank you!
It’s not the content of the kit that bothers me. Not at all. If these are the items you want to dress your sims (or yourselves in), good for you!
I just won’t buy it. It has nothing to do with me or my pixel buddies.
What bothers me is the title. To take something a majority of the community has been begging for :
“US WANTS MORE MAN -MANLY MAN- DUDE MAN STUFF, RAAAAAAAWW!!!!!! -*shakes manly man fist*”
and instead, reply with this - in my opinion- sort of twisted idea of a men pack with a title that insinuates this is what modern men should think about wearing, or worse, make teenage girls and young women believe this is what modern guys should be wearing - goes beyond my very rich and crazy imagination.
That title could have been anything without the word “MEN” in it.
Why not call it “Stefan Cooke Kit” and promote the artist properly? You did the same with Moschino and MAC makeup and Star Wars. If you promote a brand, promote the FRIGGIN’ BRAND!! - ChadSims24 years agoRising RookieI was exciting for a whole few seconds thanks Sims team for nothing always a disappointment.
- SheriSim4 years agoSeasoned HotshotDo men really wear skirts? if they do I sure haven’t seen them wearing them. I was hoping for a more traditional men’s clothing pack. I’m afraid to buy the pack because I’m afraid my male townies will be wearing skirts instead of pants…… I will have to go in and change them all! I’m curious, have people been asking for skirts for men? I thought people were wanting more casual clothes for them, jeans, leather pants and jackets. I’m glad there are some people that like the skirts in a men’s pack, but I’m sure not one of them. I guess I’m just getting a bit old to see a men’s pack with skirts, I don’t live in a small town, but I have to say I have never seen a man in a skirt, except for Halloween….
- ck2134 years agoSeasoned AdventurerEA: We hear you want more clothing for males.
So here is some female clothing for your men.
I just... :| - DoloresGrey4 years agoSeasoned NewcomerI love it very much. Trousers are not for males only. Skirts are not for females only. Wearing pants does not make you manly. Wearing skirts won't make you less manly. I hate macho attitude so much.
I am a big fan of skirts for men. In Czechia there is a brand called Kiltorys - freedom for a sack. I love that playful name (it's not a typo) and the slogan too.
The only thing I am a little bit disappointed about is that so far it seems like there are not much skirts. I honestly wish this particular theme would be in a stuff pack instead. That way there wouldn't be any gameplay objects but rather more SKIRTS! And boots!
A man + a skirt + boots = <3 - mariefoxprice834 years agoSeasoned VeteranI don't think I've ever seen a man wear a skirt in real life. If I want to use one to in the game I'll just use one of the existing skirts. I guess this is yet another kit that doesn't interest me. Then again high fashion isn't my thing (or my sims' thing) anyway.
