Mods Or No Mods?

There seems to be a bit of a misconception around here that mods take ages to be updated. The fact is, most of the major ones like MCCC are updated within 24 hours of a patch. Sometimes even before a patch is released. And this is only for major patches. Many times no update to the mod is needed.

And CC, such as hair and clothing, doesn’t need to be updated at all. I’ve got CC from 2014 in my folder that works fine.

The only mod I use is MCCC. The game is completely unplayable for me without it.

I guess it really depends on which mods you're relying on. None of the "major" mods are essential to me but some of the more obscure ones are. MCCC gets lightning fast updates, but the author of that mod earns a six figure salary maintaining it and that's just not a luxury all mod authors have. So I usually end up waiting weeks for updates to the mods I use which is fine by me because I'm not the type of person that HAS to get into the game right after a patch. But I can see how this would turn some people off from modding.

I definitely think it's a good thing that people who know they are too lazy or impatient to maintain a modded game don't even bother with it. IMO there's way too many people who mod their games neglectfully and inevitably run into issues, come on the forums or AHQ to complain or ask for help and to ultimately just be told that they need to test/update their mods.

Absolutely agree.

mods vastly improve the gameplay and i can't do without them. ts4 is the only game i've ever played with mods and cc.

You must not play any Bethesda games hehe. The community-made unofficial patch mods for their games are essential, sadly.

It would be simpler to ask what it doesn't do. MCCC handles just about everything in my opinion. It takes care of stupid autonomous actions, adds user controlled story progression, takes care of dumb townie outfits...there is an option for most in-game needs. If MCCC has a setting to keep my non- played families out of turbans it is going in my game today!

I'm too afraid mods will mess up my game.

I'm not sure what Mods are or how to get them.
They seem popular but I do not want to mess my game up with them.
Do you get glitches with them?

I can't live without mods and CC. I need my cute clothes, makeup and lashes and I also need things like MCC and UI Cheats Mod to make my life easier :'D
