I have a couple who went to university together. Originally I was playing with 1 sim and they hit it off and eventually got married in the woman's last term. Her husband had one more term to go. When he graduated, I thought it would be great to have the wife go to his graduation ceremony. And when I got there, she had no option to watch the ceremony and I was sad about that. So then when they were at home, I thought it since she missed the ceremony, she should at least congratulate her husband. There was no option. So this is like a huge milestone in someone's life. I would think they would at least have the option to congratulate someone. So anyway...I just came here to say that I wish there were interactions like this. They make the sims feel more real and like they care about each other. After not having any options to congratulate, I realized most of the options are pretty self-centered and narcissistic. I'd really like more options for when you actually care about others, too.

I agree. I'm always hoping for more interactions like that, something I thought we would see with sentiments. We need options to congratulate sims on graduating, getting married, or welcoming a baby. We can ask every sim if they're a mermaid but not about any of the actual happenings in their lives. We need more social interaction in the game.

So to not get any kind of reward at the end of it was just off-putting.

No option to praise the sons and daughters for better grades... I really like more familial options, too. I hope they add cut scenes, again. I remember one of my brother's graduation, his family and my grandparents were all there, we all waited to praise him after he walked an isle. It would be awesome to see this type of cut scene, preset animations for the family to hug him, while a graduation hat is tossed to the air. o:)

Agreed. You're quite right about self-centered interactions, I never thought of it that way before. Most Sim conversations do seem to revolve around themselves. Huh. Interesting. That's some great insight as to something of depth that could be improved.

That's another thing. Do they toss hats in TS4? I guess I might have missed it when I was trying to figure out how to get the wife to watch the ceremony, but I was pretty disappointed when I didn't see that happen, either.

I sure do hope they add stuff like this. I'm a family player and there doesn't seem to be many family interactions. I'd really love it if my kids could play games together, especially tag. I really miss seeing kids running around the neighborhood like in TS2 and TS3.

Things like this is something I always wanted. Sick sims are the perfect example. They literally have to care for themselves. You can't ask them how they are feeling, give them medicine, put them to bed, bring them food, comfort them, take them to rabbithole doctor, ask if feeling better, check their forehead, absolutely nada. Especially their little kids can't even get a nod of acknowledgement from their parents when sick.
Those were some of my best memories ??
Because my mom would go all out when I was sick and I started to enjoy being sick ???
It feels like sims are cold hearted.
Since they plan to keep this going for years one of the things I really hope to see added! ?

I've never had a sick sim, but once, and it was a kid and he couldn't take medicine. I don't know if that was a glitch or what, but I was like...how the heck is he supposed to get better?

I wish that the doctor stuff from GTW worked on regular community lots and that we could take our sims to an NPC doctor. I do agree with everything you said, though. There is nothing for families and everyone is in it for themselves. Again, these sims seem really selfish and not at all caring for others. I really want family play, but heck, I just want sims to be able to acknowledge others struggles and milestones. It just makes sense in a life simulator. Even if this was a MMO...I still want the option to ask friends how they're doing and help when I can.

Wasn't it back in Sims 3 that you could go to the hospital when your sim was sick, having a baby, get a vaccination or flu shot? Heck I wouldn't even mind loading screens to get to have that option at least. In Sims 3, the hospital was a rabbithole but at least you had that option.
