Moving Out without having to sell or keep the furniture..

When moving a sim is there a way to leave the furniture at the original home without having to sell or keep the furniture? If you decide to sell the furniture it still takes it away right? I hate l...

Oh good then maybe I just had a glitch.. When the houses do become empty it causes sims not to move in automatically.
